Expanding Farinha flour business in the Amazon é uma publicação da Fundação Amazônia Sustentável (2025) no eixo de Sociobioeconomia Amazônica, dedicada a cadeias produtivas da floresta, geração de renda e sociobioeconomia amazônica.

In 2019, the Foundation for Amazon Sustainability and the University of Notre Dame through its Meyer Business on the Frontlines Program collaborated to analyze artisanal flour businesses to support the traditional communities of the Amazon. The Amazon river basin is one of the most biodiverse places on earth, home to the largest rainforest and a focal point of ecological conservation. Yet the basin continues to be threatened by illegal logging, poaching, natural resources extraction and pollution. For more than 10 years, the Foundation for Amazon Sustainability (FAS) has led conservation efforts in the Amazon, focusing on sustainable economic development of the area’s abundant resources and traditional river communities. In groundbreaking initiatives, FAS has sought to balance the economic needs of the communities inhabiting the rainforest with the need for ecological conservation.
